Capturing System Logs

Capturing OS Array Logs (Intel RAID) #

It may be necessary to capture logs in order to start a support ticket with Arxys. To capture the OS drive logs:

  1. Open the “Intel(R) Virtual RAID on CPU” utility
  2. Go to the notification section (the icon that looks like a text message box)
  3. Click on the “Export to CSV file” button to export the logs.
  4. Note the name and location of the file being generated. Attach this file to the support ticket.
  5. Go the the system report section (the icon that looks like a piece of paper)
  6. Click on the “Save” button at the bottom right of the screen.
  7. Note the name and location of the file being generated. Attach this file to the support ticket.

Capturing Video Storage Array Logs (Broadcom RAID LSIGET) #

It may be necessary to capture logs in order to start a support ticket with Arxys. To capture the Video Storage drive logs:

  1. Browse to the path “C:\ArxysSupport\Utilities”
  2. Locate the “lsigetwin_latest.zip” file and extract it. Note the final path, it will resemble this: “C:\ArxysSupport\Utilities\lsigetwin_latest\lsigetwin_091218”
    • If your system does not have LSIget, it can be downloaded here: LSIGetWin
  3. Open an administrative command prompt and navigate to the final directory noted in the previous step.
  4. Type “lsigetwin.bat” and press enter
  5. The script will run and capture data. Do not interrupt the script. The script is completed when the message “Press any key to continue .  .  .” is show.
  6. Press any key to continue.
  7. Locate the file called out with a .7z extension. Attach this file to the support ticket.

Capturing Video Storage Array Logs (Broadcom RAID BroadcomGET) #

  1. Browse to the path “C:\ArxysSupport\Utilities”
  2. Locate the “bcmgetwin120222MR8.3.zip” file and extract it. Note the final path, it will resemble this: “C:\ArxysSupport\Utilities\bcmgetwin120222MR8.3”
    • If you system does not have BMCget, it can be downloaded here: BMCGetWin
  3. Open an administrative command prompt and navigate to the final directory noted in the previous step.
  4. Type “bcmget.bat” and press enter
  5. The script will run and capture data. Do not interrupt the script. The script is completed when the message “Press any key to continue .  .  .” is show.
  6. Press any key to continue.
  7. Locate the file called out with a .7z extension. Attach this file to the support ticket.

Capturing Video Storage Array Logs (Microchip RAID) #

  1. Open maxView Storage Manager


  2. Log in using an administrative account.


  3. From the menu on the left select the server name (host)


  4. Look for the “System” section in the top menu and click on the “Archive Management” button


  5. Leave all the options checked and click on the “Save” button


  6. After a few moments the web browser will download a file called “support.zip” Attach this file to the support ticket.

Capturing Windows OS Logs #

  1. Click “Start,” then “Run,” then “eventvwr.msc.” This will open the Event Viewer
  2. Next, go to “Windows Logs,” then “Application”
  3. Select Click “Save All Event As…”
  4. Choose the location to save the logs
  5. Repeat for “Windows Logs,” then “System”
  6. Select Click “Save All Event As…”
  7. Choose the location to save the logs

Capturing Hardware Logs (GUI) Rev S Systems #

Applies to R8E, R12E, R16E, R36E systems

  1. Utilize a web browser to browse to the IP address set listed in the IPMI section of the BIOS making sure to start with https://
    • Example: https://192.168.1.100
  2. A log in prompt will be presented.
  3. The default user is ‘ADMIN’ the password will be unique for each system. The DEFAULT password is located on a silver label attached to the top right-hand side of the system near the serial number. If the password has been changed, enter the new password.
  4. From the left hand menu, click the System menu to expand the options
  5. Click on Health Event Log
  6. Click the Export to Excel button
  7. Choose the location to save the logs.

Capturing Hardware Logs (GUI) Rev G Systems #

Applies to R4E, R4M, R12M, R4VE systems

  1. Utilize a web browser to browse to the IP address set listed in the IPMI section of the BIOS making sure to start with https://
    • Example: https://192.168.1.100
  2. A log in prompt will be presented.
  3. The default user is ‘admin’ the password will be unique for each system. The DEFAULT password is located on a silver label attached to the top right-hand side of the system near the serial number. If the password has been changed, enter the new password.
  4. From the left hand menu, click the Logs & Reports menu to expand the options
  5. Click on IPMI Event Log
  6. Click the Download Event Logs button
  7. The logs will download to the default download location of the browser used.

Capturing Hardware Logs (CLI) Rev S/G Systems #

Applies to all systems that have the factory IPMICFG CLI installed. Can also be downloaded here: IPMICFG

  1. Log in the system using an administrative account
  2. Open a command prompt as an administrator


  3. Navigate to: “c:\ArxysSupport\Utilities\IPMI Tools\IPMICFG” using cd. See example above.
    • Note there is a space, so double quotes must be used.


  4. Run the command “IPMICFG-Win.exe -sel list > C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\sel.txt” – do NOT include the double quotes
  5. Run the command “IPMICFG-Win.exe -sdr > c:\Users\Administrator\Documents\sdr.txt” – do NOT include the double quotes
  6. Browse to C:\Users\Administrator\Documents. The sel.txt and sdr.txt files are the logs.
