LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) is a special Windows edition that receives only security updates for 10 years while staying on the same feature version, designed for systems that need maximum stability. IoT (Internet of Things)editions are Microsoft’s embedded/specialized Windows versions built for dedicated-purpose devices and servers, offering the same long-term stability with stripped-down features for mission-critical applications.

LTSC versions cannot be upgraded in-place to newer releases like standard Windows—their stability-focused design intentionally locks them to a specific build version.
